Bri muscle up

Last night, Lindsey shared with Regionals competitors the letters many of you wrote to inspire us for this weekend.  WOW, mission accomplished. Not only am blown away and completely inspired for the weekend, I was also motivated last night to write a letter of my own…

Three years ago, I don’t think ANY of us knew what we were about to do.  Sure, this new partnership with CrossFit was fresh and exciting.  And yes, those coaches that came for GMM all had bodies to die for. But Reebok already had a gym – a great one.  Why would a fresh coat of paint, some kettlebells and a pull-up rig in an abandoned area of Building 5 ever be worth the walk?

Boy were we in for a surprise…  In just a few months, we learned that movement is universal and limits are only temporary.  We learned a new language, celebrated small victories and discovered muscles we never knew we had. We saw how a few impactful individuals can generate a resilient and robust community. And finally, we experienced how this resilient community can have the power to improve wellbeing and transform lives.

What a journey.

And as we enter our third Reebok CrossFit Games season as Reebok CrossFIt ONE, many of you have taken the time to write, email or stop us in the hall to wish us good luck.

Thank YOU for all the best wishes.  However, as a wise man recently pointed out, luck has nothing to do with it.

The beauty of CrossFit is that there are no bad bounces or blown calls.  Athletes thrive based on preparation, dedication and intent. So this year, under the direction of our fearless leader, our team tried something different.

Rather than compete with a goal of winning the Region, beating CF New England or even making the Top 10, we chose to dedicate all our training, our workouts and our performance to someone or something that truly inspires and moves us – something worth “suffering” for.   It’s not surprising that many of us chose to dedicate this season to you, the RCF1 community.

Every rep, every pull, all that we give in the box and on the competition floor derives from the inspiration you provide.  And, while packing the stadium and yelling out encouragement certainly helps, the true power comes from seeing you every day at the gym. What you do is truly amazing.

You don’t train for glory, for titles or even for six-pack abs (though we all admit that’s a nice side effect.) You’re conquering fears, overcoming health issues, embracing muscle and even braving the dirty-6:30 to improve your lives and fulfill your potential in the world.  You are constant reminders of why we do it.  Without that why – and without you – we’d truly be lost.

So thank you for being there.  We hope to inspire you just a fraction of how much you inspire us.

We are Reebok. ONE Nation. ONE family. Let’s have some fun.
